Question: Smoking question ( please do not suggest stop smoking )
I am an 18 year old boy!. I started smoking about one to two times a month with my friends and I don`t plan to turn it into a habit!. Simply a cigarette every once in a while!. I know that it is unhealthy no matter what you do but what can I do to prevent becoming addicted and to remain healthy!? ( although I know it will hurt my health )Www@Answer-Health@Com

i smoke occasionally!.!.almost always socially and i don't ever feel addicted (a few each month at most)!. i spose keeping it to a SMALL minimum is the key!. If your friends smoke alot than this can be a bit more of a problem, if they chainsmoke resist the temptation to join them!

also try sticking to light cigarettes!.!.at most medium
less harmful this way

That's how habitual smoking always starts!. :)

However if you notice that you only smoke with particular people at particular times, and don't deviate from those environments, you might be alright!. If you start buying your own smokes and smoking when alone, you might turn your "once in awhile" into a full on habit!. If that happens, it's a lot more difficult to kick it!.

I have a friend that was in the same situation!. She eventually got over the excitement of it and hasn't thought about going back!. I think a lot of it depends on your personality!. Try not to do it as much as once a week, because that could make things worse as far as becoming addicted!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm thinking don't inhale or just don't do it!. i mean, sure it's what your friends are doing, so you want to too, i know how that goes, i'm only 18 as well but i don't do everything my friends do!.

you need to have a strong sense of willpower to be able to control your addiction!.If you can stick to your plan of only smoking once in a while then it wouldn't be as unhealthy as a chain smoker!.Good Luck To Yah!.

Self control is a big one!. If you find yourself "wanting" a cigarette more often then you want to smoke!.!. try to find other things to take your mind off of it!.!.when it gets to that though!.!. you must realize it's becoming an addiction!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'll know you've got a problem when you get the urge to buy your first pack, then a second!. If you can smoke one once in a while - go for it!. Some people can do that, most people can't!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I actually become an addict that way an occasional one here and there, 19yrs later still going I actually quite 2 months ago, good-luck its a crappy habit that ruins more than you know!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
