Question: I just got a pain on my left and right side on my lower back by my kidneys what should I do!?

Pain is the body's way of telling you something is wrong!. If you did something that might have strained your back a bit (like some heavy lifting or new exercise), then you might wait the pain out a couple of days and take some aspirin, tylenol, or ibuprofen!. If the pain does not abate, then you should definitely see the doctor!.
If the pain has come on abruptly and seems to be internal, then you might have a kidney infection!. This is even more likely if you have fever or chills and/or feel generally ill!. Your urine might be dark or it might be painful to urinate if you have a urinary tract infection!. Any of these symptoms is a sign that you should see a doctor as soon as possible!.

Drink plenty of water and cranberry juice!. This will keep your kindney constantly moving fluid!. There is probably no reason to rush off to the ER or anything!. Take some Ibprofrin!. Try relaxing in a tub of hot water or use a heating pad!. Monitor your urine to be sure that there is no blood or kidney stones being passed!. IF you get into severe pain or start vomiting then you should go to the ER if not call your doctor in the morning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
if it is constant go to the hospital or to your doctor if it was a real quick shock than don't worry about it unless it is happening a lot, the consult your primary physician!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
