Question: How much should she pay me to take care of elderly lady after surgery!?
I'm start taking care of my father in laws mother next week after her surgery!. She has enphsema diabetes clogged arteries and she is having major heart surgery!. They are paying for my gas and $125 a week for 5 days 8 hours a day and I was just wanting to know if thats reasonable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

40 hours x $7 = $280 a week!.
Somebody - a "friend" - was going to pull the same bull*** on me a few years ago, because he knew i was in desperate need of money!. I told him to find somebody else!.

It is family!. You are lucky they are paying you at all!. You know at her age, she would not have the $$!. You don't also include that the house, being family, will have food, phone, t!.v!. and a bed for you to use!. Unless the insurance is paying for hired (qualified RN) assistance, they are offering you $$ so they can work to pay their own bills!. They are probably also paying her bills, house, utilities, t!.v!. out of their own money!. I think they are more than fair, unless you are driving 200 miles each way 2x or more a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
That's 25 a day!. Like, $3 an hour!. ANd caring for an elderly person is a LOT of work!. Unless your drive is reeeeeaaally long, I don't see how this is fair!. You will probably find that there's a lot of work involved, too!. I think you deserve more than twice that!. Just tell them it isn't even minumum wage and you'd like at least $7 an hour!. I was caring for an older woman just to help out a friend and was paid $50!. a day, & night , she woke up during the night too - for cooking, caring cleaning etc!. When I left they could not find anyone under $100!. a day and she did not speak english and did not cook!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
