There are certainly parameters by which increased pain is "allowed" and even a desired effect!. However, not even in those circumstances should your increased pain last beyond the rest of the day!.!.!.or in most cases, more than 10-15 minutes after therapy!.
Without knowing you specifically, it's hard to say what category of "acceptable" pain you should be feeling, if any!.
!.!.!.however, if you've been doing PT for a year, might be time to say it isn't working (unless you are getting better overall)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is totally normal to experience pain and soreness after a physical therapy session!. During physical therapy you perform stretches and exercises that are meant to improve your range of motion by extending the joint past its new limit!. The goal in therapy is to gradually improve your range of motion!. If you experience too much pain, you may have worked the joint too hard!. The more you improve in therapy, the less it will hurt!. If your pain continues, ask your therapist if you can take it easy during the next session!. The therapist may also agree to use ultrasound or electrical stimulation on your shoulder to aid in pain management!. Neither of these procedures will hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
