What's the fastest way to cure a sprained ankle?!


Question: What's the fastest way to cure a sprained ankle!?
im a cross country runner!. 2 days ago i sprained my ankle when i sprint down hills!.!.!.yet before that my ankle was not completely recovered from the last sprain even though it doesnt hurt when i run!. i put ice on my ankle immediately!. however, it still got swollen the next day and it hurts while walking!.
now i want the FASTEST way to cure that ankle!.!.!.the cross country season will start in 2 weeks, and imagine if i dont keep training in these 2 weeks i'll be out of shape!. 2 weeks really mean a lot to a good athlete!.
i've been icing it, but i dont know how long i should keep icing it!.!.!.after 24 hours!? 48 hours!? or until its not swollen!?

Remember the RICE method of healing injuries:

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

If you do all four of those things, you will heal quickly, but you MUST rest it!. A lot of people skip that part, and it's of the utmost importance!. Also, if you can get to a hot tub, you can use it once a day to help the muscles relax; then it's back to the RICE treatment!.

The above site says not to ice more than 20 min which is not good but you can do it every few hours!. You can also search online for other helpful tips for sprain ankles!. I was searching for myself (as I sprained my ankle too) and it showed me some products like cold compression wraps, ultrasound and others!.!.!.I didn't use it myself yet but you can search for it!.

ice until it goes back to almost normal size!. put an ace bandage on it! then just plop a bag of ice on top of the ace bandage!. also, keep the foot elevated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
