Is there a way to encourage an old scab to fall off?!

Question: Is there a way to encourage an old scab to fall off!?
I have an old cut on my forearm that is more than 4 months old but the scab hasnt fallen off yet!. You can pull the edges up and you can see that it has been healed for quite some time but I dont want to just pull the scab off because the new skin has attached itself to the scab and if I just pull it off I will tear the skin!. Is there anything I can do to encourage it to come off on its own!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Soak it in warm water-- the hotter the better, but not hot enough to be painful or uncomfortable!. Soak it for about 10 minutes!. That will soften the scab and may even make it fall off!. However it's more likely that you will need to encourage it a bit!. The soaking will soften up the scab and loosen the connection between the scab and the new skin, so you should be able to peel it off without any problems or pain!. If you don't want to do that, you can take a washcloth, dampen it, and rub the scab!. At the very least that will take some layers off of the scab, weakening it and making it more likely to come off!. It will probably just take the scab off outright!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put vaseline on the scab, cover it with a band-aid!. This will soften the scab!. It make take a couple two or three times, for a couple of days, then when you are in the shower, and the band-aid becomes moist, peel it off slowly in one instance the scab will peel off with the band-aid!. While is is soft and before applying the next band-aid, try pulling at it a little at a time or rubbing it with a warm wash cloth!. Best to you young lady!. Hope it works for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
