Hello,

I'm sorry you've hurt yourself!. If it's red and swollen, surely that is enough to convince your nana that something's wrong!?

My guess is that it's the outside of your ankle that's red and swollen, and that you twisted the ankle so that the foot turned inwards!?

If you can't walk on it, or put weight on it, then I really think you should consider getting an X-ray!. It's possible that you've broken a bone at the outside of your ankle!. If you have broken a bone, that makes it a bit more serious; also it will take much longer to heal!.

I hope this is of some help!. Really I can't alter "best advice" according to whether or not you have insurance!.

I would try to stay off of it as much as possible!. Ice it, and elevate it!. If your toes and the rest of your foot is swollen, I would definitely see a doctor!. If when you can put pressure on it, your ankle gives out at certain points, I would go see a doctor!. It sounds like a minor to moderate sprain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put ice on it and elevate your leg!. Take an aspirin to reduce some of the swelling!. I might also consider a children's benadryl ( I know that is for allergies, but it is an anti-inflammatory)Www@Answer-Health@Com

put ice on it, and dont walk on it!.!.!. take a painkiller that is also an anti-inflamatory (like ibuprofin)!.!.!.

and quit jumping on the bedWww@Answer-Health@Com
