Ingrown toenail... v.painful... advice please!!

Question: Ingrown toenail!.!.!. v!.painful!.!.!. advice please!
I have had problems with an ingrown nail on my right big toe for a while now and i stubbed my toe again the other day and split the nail badly so i have a V shape but the ingrown bit is still embedded in my skin! Ouch! Ive been cleaning it and brought some magnesium sulphate paste today as my mum said it can help draw out the pus and bacteria (disgusting i know)!.
I'm in alot of pain with it and being that it is saturday i cant really get a doctor appt till monday morning!.
Is there anything else i can do till i get to see a doctor!?
What will the doctor do as well!?

Been there, done that!. You need to see a podiatrist (called a chiropodist in some areas)!. They specialize in foot care!. He/she will spray a medicine on your toe that numbs it completely!. Then they inject some Novocaine, and cut away the sliver of nail that is ingrown!. Finally they drain the pus, and put an antibiotic ointment and bandage on it!. You will then have to soak your foot in a dilute vinegar solution twice daily and apply a prescription ointment (gentamycin) to cure the infection for good!. My procedure was completely painless!. There is one follow up visit so the doctor can see that the infection has cleared!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh, those hurt! I had problems with ingrown nails for years and not much helps that pain!. I used to soak my foot in warm water with Epsom salts to draw up the infection!. I finally did the best thing I ever did and had a ll 10 nails permanently removed!. It wasn't that I was cutting them wrong, my nails grew curved inward naturally!. I now wear a size 8 shoe instead of a 10 I was wearing to keep my feet from hurting!. Hope you get to feeling better soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just got mine done a few days ago!.!.!.

First, the doctor will put shots in your toe to numb in!. Then, when you can't feel it, they cut the nail out of the side and bandage it up!. Then you are free to go! Your toe will feel numb for 6-10 hours after the procedure!.

When you go to the doctor, ask him for Amerigel Wound Dressing!. Use this and a band-aid everyday!.

For now, soak it in hot water and Epsom salt a few times each day!.

Here is another trick!. Sit down and push all around your toe!. Find a spot where it doesn't hurt and push down!. Puss should come out of the side!. (EW!!!!)

If it is infected, get a doctor's appointment right away!. Look for streaks of blue on your leg because that is blood poisioning!.

Here is a picture/diagram of an ingrown toenail!.
