they say i separated my rib from my cartilidge
new doc said that i have a possiblility of multiple floating ribs
why did they give me a ct scan instead of an mri

A CT Scan for an area close to the skin such as ribs is fine, but if you need to go deeper like in a knee or shoulder, an MRI would probably be ordered!. They may give you a support wrap to hold the ribs in place while the cartilage heals and put you on a mild Narcotic Pain Pill for a while!. Extra Strength Tylenol may do as well though!.
