You need to form an exercise plan you can actually stick to!.

But first, have your pharmacist or doctor evaluate all your medications!. If you are taking anti-inflammatories in high doses, you could be making your problem worse, not better!. (this happened to me!.) Also have the doc evaluate you for some other things: (1) Depression!. It causes a LOT of pain in certain individuals!. It feels like severe arthritis and can even show up as inflammation!. (2) Rheumatoid Arthritis!. This is a disease that sometimes will not show up in xrays or blood work, especially in young people!. Make sure you get evaluated THOROUGHLY, including a good family history!. (3) Lupus!. Again, this is an auto-immune condition that can cause great pain and is difficult to diagnose because it tends not to show up in early stages!. (4) Lyme Disease!. You may have had a tick bite and never known it, and it can cause the symptoms you describe!. (5) Fibromyalgia!. It's a real condition and almost never shows up in tests!. But the pain can be debilitating, and pain killers don't usually work at all on this pain!.

If the doc absolutely rules out all the causes above, then try swimming instead of walking!. Take a water-fitness class--an easy one at first, and progress to more difficult ones later!. Don't swim the conventional way--use a float-belt, or a big foam noodle, and just "jog" through the water!. This way you won't hurt your back and shoulders!. Do a lot of stretching exercises IN the water, and after you swim; then use a hot tub afterwards if you have access to one!. Be patient!. Swimming has extremely good benefits for both fitness and pain--but it takes a while to see those benefits!. Don't quit if you don't see improvement right away! Swimming not only will reduce your inflammation, it will make you far more fit and healthy!. Swimming won't impact on your joints and muscles the way walking, treadmills or yoga does!. (Though there's nothing wrong with any of those, either if you can do them!.) When you feel a little better, try finding a Tai chi class and see if that helps you also!.

I am not a proponent of pills to manage pain!. There are a few major reasons for this: first, most heavy pain-killers are addictive!. Vicodin, Oxycontin--these do work on pain, but they quickly become addictive and it will take more and more of them to get the same results over the long term!. No doc who is worth their license will tell you to keep taking these drugs over an extended period of time!. Naproxen is another one that is bad news in the long term--it can cause tissues to swell and retain water--and that makes muscle and joint pain worse!. It is also very hard on your kidneys!. Aspirin can cause stomach ulceration and bleeding!. This leaves you with two choices: Acetominophen (brand name Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (brand names Advil, Motrin!.) Of the two, the Tylenol is way preferable over the long term!.

The anti-inflammatory drugs have bad side effects: your pain can get WORSE, you can ruin your kidneys and circulation--or your heart, you can have horrible stomach problems!. Since you already take antacids for stomach problems, you don't want to make it worse!. They just cause a lot more problems than they solve sometimes!.

I hope you feel better soon!

Try yoga!.

I had the similar back pains and pinched nerves too!. I was going to the Chiropractor for a few months but nothing seemed to help!. I tried yoga and after a few classes, my back pain is minimal to gone!. No joke! Try it!.!.even if you are overweight!. You won't regret it!Www@Answer-Health@Com
