Yes, it is!.

Clinical Waste is any waste that can cause harm or pose a threat to humans!. This can include such items as human or animal tissue, blood and/or other bodily fluids, excretions, drugs, swabs or dressings!.

Syringes and other sharp instruments are usually disposed of in what is called a Sharps Container and treated seperately for safety reasons

Its mostly produced by hospitals, doctors surgeries, vets, rest homes and sometimes private houses and should be disposed of correctly with the ultimate disposal being incineration!.

Its not to be confused with Medical Waste which is not incinerated but landfilled!. This includes such items as nappies, sanitary waste and incontinence pads!.

I used to work for a waste management company and there are very strict guidelines in place for this sort of waste which are drummed into you daily as the fines for incorrect disposal are very high!
