Why do I get so many ear infections?!

Question: Why do I get so many ear infections!?
My ears really bother me!. I get infections so often and then they go, then return if I stop using the drops for a day!. It drives me crazy!. What can I do to stop myself being so prone to them!? I don't go swimming a lot or anything!. Also, when the doctor prescribes me something, it is never enough to cure it completely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi There,

I used to have chronic ear infections too! I asked my Dr for a referral to an ENT and he swabbed the discharge in my ear!. The infection was called staphlococcus areus (sp!?) then the Dr prescribed the correct antibiotic for this bug!. I have some ear drops on hand in case it flares up again!.

Honestly if you have ongoing ear problems you really need further investigation otherwise your hearing will be effected eventually!.

Try not to clean out your ears with cotton buds, this doesn't help at all!. I see you are keeping your ear dry and not swimming!.

My mother had problems with her ears and so does one of my brothers!. It could have a lot to do with the shape of our ear canals, my ear canals are small and there isn't any drainage so I am sure this doesn't help so perhaps it is the way we are built and genetics might play a part here!.

Hope this helps you!. Good luck!.

I have the same problem, had it ever since I was a child!. My doctor says there's no underlying problem and he can't do anything about it!. Funny thing was, I was in England for five months and even though I have an ear infection at least every other week when I'm at home in Germany, I didn't have one during all the time in England!. Have you been to the doctors!? My son used to have numerous ear infections and they put tubes in his ears!. Also could be allergies!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try asking tour doctor for a hearing test it could be part of an underlying problem to do with the inner ear!.
Hope this is helpful!.
Good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
