Should I pay for my anesthetic?!

Question: Should I pay for my anesthetic!?
So I was circumcised about two months ago and before the surgery I was unaware that I the doctor wanted me put under until right before the surgery, I was asked and was not put under however was given a sedative!. The doctor said the the anesthetist would bill me because they were charging me separately!.

The procedure went well, was quick, simple and I would say I am fully healed until I got a bill from the anesthetist yesterday for $400 and I feel this is too much!. I was expecting $100-$200 because of the short time length and I wasn't actually put under!.

I don't want to pay this amount, any suggestions!? What happens if I do not pay it!? I live in Alberta, Canada by the way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Ask the hospital for an itemized list of the charges!. Anything on that bill that doesn't look right, question it and don't let it go until you're satisfied that your questions have been answered!. However, after looking at the bill and if you find that the charges are legit, you'll have to pay it!. They don't work for free!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you can call to an insurance company, they are going to check your income, and depends on the insurance you get it may be able to cover it, besides that there is nothing much to do but pay it, next time make sure you get all this type of info before you sign something, if you don't pay is going to be on your record!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the anesthetist does more than just knock you out for a painless procedure!. They also monitor your vitals and make sure you are handling the procedure well!. Whether you are out cold or just woozy makes no difference!. I think you will need to pay up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
