Question: I got my cartilage pierced like 3 months and it's red and swollen!?
i got my cartilage pierced early June and it is a little swollen and red!. It has a little bump on the back of the ear and the bump is hard!. I'm worried it's infected!. Am I overreacting!? Also I got it done by a piercing gun which I hear is bad!. But I can't really do anything about it now!. I don't want disfiguration but I am afraid to take it out if it is infected!. Honestly, even though it seems like it can most definitely be infected, no one here can tell you for sure what the problem is because we can't look at it!. A medical professional can!. Go see one, and s/he can tell you how to treat it and whether to remove the earring!. Sorry to not be more specific but it's best to be on the safe side!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

this definately sounds infected! When catilage is infected it gets bumps!
When you used a gun to pierce it tramatizes the area alot!. So it takes longer to heal!. That means more time that you have to take very good care of it!. If you do get an infection in the cartilage it can get serious because of less blood flow to clear it up!. If it is infected!. TAKE OUT THE PIERCING!!!! and clean it then put neosporin on to help it heal!.

YEAH YOU NEEDA TAKE IT OUT THAT BUMP IS LIKE A CIEST AND YEAH UR NOT SUPPOSE TO DO IT WITH A PIERCIER GUN THAT JUS PUSHES THE SKIN TO THE SIDE AND IT MAKES A BUMP LIKE THING GROW CUZ YOUR BODYS REJECTIN IT YOU NEEDA REMOVE IT ASAP BECAUSE YOUR EAR MIGHT HAVE TO GET REMOVED IF IT BUILDS A INFECTION IN IT OR THAT BUMP AKA A CIEST CAN GET MUCH BIGGER!

Totally normal!. My cartilage got infected SO BAD when i got it pierced!. I suggest you buy H2Ocean!. its a spray made for piercings and it works VERY VERY WELL!!!. By the way, my cartilage piercing took a FULL YEAR to FULLY heal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
