Has anyone been addicted to Ultram?!

Question: Has anyone been addicted to Ultram!?
Ive been on the drug for a long time!. I had knee surgery in March and was put on Oxycontin!. After awhile I knew I needed to get off of them, so my doctor put me on these!. He never said these are addicting or any warnings!. I tried to get off of these by myself, but of course I have terrible withdrawal symptoms!. If someone has got off these pills by themselves please tell me how you did it!!!!!!

Thanks Www@Answer-Health@Com

Start tapering off of them-like if you were taking 6 a day then take 5 a day for 2 day then 4 a day for 2 days then 3 a day for 2 day then 2 a day for 2 days the 1 a day for 2 days!. Make sure you have plenty of Imodium because you may experience diarrhea!. You will need some ibuprofen for the muscle cramps you get and you will need something like generic unisom to help you sleep at night!. Do not use anything like tylenol PM to help you sleep at night because all that is is benadryl and tylenol and neither of those meds are really good for you!. Unisom doesn't have many side effects and it works well!. You will feel bad for a few days but you can do it!. It won't as hard as you go cold turkey!. I hope it works for you You can do this!. i started taking half the dosage my doctor prescribed, been doing that for a few months now!. perhaps you need to taper the dosage!. my prescription was for up to 4 per day, but i never took more than 2!. i'm not big into taking things for pain but the pain of bulging disk in my neck was too much!. i am still taking it!.

apparently it can be addictive, found these on a treatment center web site

Withdrawal

Withdrawal symptoms may occur if ULTRAM ER is discontinued abruptly!. These symptoms may include: anxiety, sweating, insomnia, rigors, pain, nausea, tremors, diarrhea, upper respiratory symptoms, piloerection, and rarely hallucinations!. Clinical experience suggests that withdrawal symptoms may be reduced by tapering ULTRAM ER!.
Misuse, Abuse and Diversion of Opioids

Tramadol is an opioid agonist of the morphine-type!. Such drugs are sought by drug abusers and people with addiction disorders and are subject to criminal diversion!.

Tramadol can be abused in a manner similar to other opioid agonists, legal or illicit!. This should be considered when prescribing or dispensing ULTRAM ER in situations where the physician or pharmacist is concerned about an increased risk of misuse, abuse, or diversion!.

ULTRAM ER could be abused by crushing, chewing, snorting, or injecting the dissolved product!. These practices will result in the uncontrolled delivery of the opioid and pose a significant risk to the abuser that could result in overdose and death (see WARNINGS and DRUG ABUSE AND ADDICTION)!.

Concerns about abuse, addiction, and diversion should not prevent the proper management of pain!. The development of addiction to opioid analgesics in properly managed patients with pain has been reported to be rare!. However, data are not available to establish the true incidence of addiction in chronic pain patients!.

Healthcare professionals should contact their State Professional Licensing Board, or State Controlled Substances Authority for information on how to prevent and detect abuse or diversion of this product!.
Interactions with Alcohol and Drugs of Abuse

Tramadol may be expected to have additive effects when used in conjunction with alcohol, other opioids, or illicit drugs that cause central nervous system depression!.

Drug Abuse And Addiction

ULTRAM? ER is a mu-agonist opioid!. Tramadol, like other opioids used in analgesia, can be abused and is subject to criminal diversion!.

Drug addiction is characterized by compulsive use, use for non-medical purposes, and continued use despite harm or risk of harm!. Drug addiction is a treatable disease, utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach, but relapse is common!.
