I once felt like you do now!. I was young and thought that no one cared whether I lived or died!. I was just a free baby sitter for an alcoholic mother!. My father didn't stop her when she started beating me, which she did whenever anything displeased her!. If I peeled the potato skins too thick, she would make me eat them out of the garbage can and I was not allowed to wash them first!. If she thought that I was being smart to her, she would make me go outside naked and she would throw cold water on me!. If she found one spot on a glass in the cupboard, she would make me wash every dish in the house!. She made me eat hot peppers and drink cod liver oil if she thought I was not telling the truth!. She did not come to my high school graduation!. But at least she let me go!. I was not allowed to date!. I was never allowed to have friends over!. I thought the only way out was to end my life!. I scratched myself, but I was not brave enough to do it!. Today, many years later, I am so happy that I didn't do it!. I left home as soon as I was 18, got a job and eventually got married!.
Life has a way of working out!. When you go through as much as you are when you are young, there is nowhere to go but up!. I am sure that some day you will be very happy!. You know, I slit both my wrists 1/2 an inch deep straight down the middle 7 inches long each!. I'm still here!. And when I really think back on it, if my reasons weren't worth dying for, then yours aren't either!. Life's no cakewalk, but who said it was right!? We just gotta make the most of it while we're here!. Because the truth is, NONE of us know if there's really heaven or hell or God or anything at all!.
