Pain in belly button?!

Question: Pain in belly button!?
I'm having a problem with my belly button and its scaring me!. I did a stupid a mistake in trying to clean it without using a q-tip and baby oil or alcohol!. Soon after I did that, it started to hurt, the pain remained throughout the day and got worse the next morning!. By evening, I couldn't sit or bend without it hurting, its like there's a bruise inside!. Even when I laugh, it hurts!. Before I slept, I put vaseline on my belly button and when I woke up the next morning, it was bleeding like pale, brownish blood, and it had a really bad smell!. Until now it has not stopped!. I don't know what to do and I'm honestly scared to go to the Doctor!. Help! Www@Answer-Health@Com

This happens to me at least once a year!. Though you should see a doctor if it gets worse and definitely mention it at any upcoming appointments, it is most likely caused by a benign cyst that was in the lining of your belly button!. Especially if you are heavy and have a lot of belly fat, which means that you most likely have an innie, this is common and most people don't even notice them until the pain and bleeding (which doesn't always happen or happens so little, it's never a big deal)!.

Mine hurt for a few days before hand, then bleed the brownish blood as you have already experienced and continue hurting for at least a week afterwards especially since I can't exactly lie in bed all day and relax!. Your stomach area is the core of your movement so any movement is going to make it slower to heal and feel better!.

If you can bear the sting, start a daily regimen of washing around the belly button with warm water and soap (in the shower is fine) and then lying or leaning to where you stomach is straight up and your belly button level!. Drop enough hydrogen peroxide into the belly button to fill it - you may have to open it a bit - and allow it to bubble for a while, blotting at it as it brings up any blood!. Do this at least twice each time!. Then lie on your stomach with a washcloth at your belly button to collect any of the leftover liquid!.

I tried putting Neosporin and various creams in mine and, though they didn't make it worse, they didn't work to make it better!.

You will probably need to do this for several days!.

Take pain reliever pills to alleviate the pain and try not to exercise too much or even eat too much as it will add pressure to that area!.

I used a heating pad as well when it was really painful!. Place it inside your pants to kinda hold it down and set it on at least medium!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would definately go to the doctor; you might have an infection of some kind and need an antibiotic!. Any kind of a foul smell or bleeding isn't normal and needs medical care not baby oil, vaseline or alcohol put on it!. Don't worry, it doesn't mean it has to be something serious but it does need to be seen by your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes, it does sound like you have an infection!. try cleaning it with some neosporin!. keep it clean!. do that a couple times a day!. if it doesnt go away by two days!.!.!.i would say go to the doctor!. there is nothing to be afraid of!. just tell your dr!. what you told us!. theyll help!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

y scared of the doc!? they can answer your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you have an infection!. The doctor needs to diagnose you to tell you if it's bacterial or fungal!.

Cleaning your belly button too much can cause a fungal infection!. Don't clean it any differently than you clean any other part of your body!. There is good bacteria in there and if you go dumping alcohol in there, you're killing off the good bacteria along with the bad!.

Get to the doctor and find out which type of infection it is!. They're not that uncommon, and there is nothing to be afraid of!. Leaving an infection untreated is far scarier than a visit to the doctor!. Bad things can happen if you don't get treated!.
