Sprained ankles can be some of the worst injuries you can get! They can last anything from 3 weeks up to a year! Because the pain has gone after just 3 days it looks like you don't have too much of a serious problem, which is good!. The ankle is larger because of the swelling and I'm sure this will completely disappear within a week - it doesn't tend to last much longer after the pain has gone!. Applying ice to it when you're resting at home can help!.
Once the swelling has pretty much gone its a good idea to get it moving again and build up the range of movements in your ankle, so that your ligaments don't tighten up too much after healing!.

The swelling will go down eventually!. Keep it wrapped when you walk!.
Take it easy, don't do too much on it or it won't get better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
