I cant fall asleep at all?!


Question: I cant fall asleep at all!?
every night i go to bed at 12:00 am but i don't fall asleep until about 6 in the morning and even if i do fall asleep early i wake up in like a hour and then i have the same problem, i do not smoke,drink,do drugs, don't drink any coffee no chocolate and i eat for the last time no later then 9:00 pm!.
what can i do to fall asleep!? i also take no naps during the day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It looks like you suffer from insomnia!.

You probably notice a lot of people telling you to take sleeping pills, easy answer, but hardly a long-term one!. Sleeping pills will make you both dependant (so you can't get off them and get to sleep) and tolerant (so you need more and more to get to sleep)!.

Sleeping pills like Restoril are only good for short term relief, two or three weeks at most, if you've just experienced something intense in life that is stopping you from sleeping, but not for lifestyle issues!.

The people who are telling you to simply exercise do have a point, if you do a fair bit of cardiovascular and weight training, you will exhaust your body, which will allow you to sleep better and much more healthily!

As well as not exercising enough, some people also have this problem if they're not working or studying full time, which judging by your question, may be your problem!. Mental issues can also stop people from sleeping, such as stress and anxiety!.

I find that people who can't fall asleep are either:
a) not tired enough, your physical or mental body does not get enough exercise;

b) not fed enough, you can always sleep better with a full stomach;

c) think too much!. Try to relax your mind, don't worry about the plans for tomorrow for the time being, or that work/school project due next week, or what your friend will say about you missing her call!.!.!.don't even worry about not being to fall asleep!. Just totally relax, leave it all behind you!.

Maybe you are not tired enough to fall asleep!.
Try exercising and doing stuff to tire you out!.
Move around alot, use alot of energy!.

If that doesn't work,,
Try drinking a warm cup of milk before you go to sleep, apparently it helps you sleep!.
If!.!.!. that grosses you out, Take a warm shower or bath at night, and go to bed a bit earlier than 12am!.
Or,,
When you are in bed, stretch your arms and legs out and imagine that you are in a sunny flower bed!.!.!. the thought helps you calm down to sleep!.
Try listening to calming music before you go to sleep as well!. :D

I used to have the same thing, it usually happens when i am stressed out!.

I tried alot of things that people suggested to me like sleepign with lavender under your pillow and eating a bowl of rice or somethign rich in carbs before you sleep, which helped sometimes!.

but now i just stay awake and do things untill i get sleepy, before i go to bed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

okay well it seems like you have a sleeping problem -lol
okay so what you gatta do is actually go see a doctor and they will suggest things and god forbid something can be wrong in your body just god forbid but see a doctor just a check up and tell them about it
i dont think it matters at what time you eat the food anyways you got o bed at 12 you should eat like 3-4 hours before bed so the food can digestWww@Answer-Health@Com

i had the same problem when i was about 11

i went to my local gp and he just had a talk and stuff to me about it

it has helped alot

maybe try not to sleep during the day and maybe dont go to bed as late


these things can happen when your mind is to fast for your body

it means your mind still is awake and active and thinking about say!.!.!. wat u did on the weekend


turn all electric devices off at least an hour before you are planning to go to bed

I'm a 13 year old girl just to let you know!.

I went to my neurologist for this problem, and she told me to take Melatonin: http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Melatonin

The best thing about melatonin is that it's really a natural chemial in our body that is released from our brain, so the pills are completely natural and not addictive sleep aids!.

She told me I can take up to 10 milligrams!.

I buy them at GNC, but I'm sure any vitamin or health store would sell it!.

Sleep in a dark, comfortable room!. Light signals your body that it's time to be awake, so you want to avoid it at night!. Theres this thing called insomnia which is when people have difficulty sleeping or staying asleep!. I think you should go to your doctor!. thats the best choiceWww@Answer-Health@Com

during your next checkup tell your doctor, and before you go to sleep take a bath!. or read!. watching t!.v kinda wakes u up more!. so dont that!. this happens to me to!. thats why im awake now haah i went to bed at like 10:00 and now im like uhgg i cant sleeep!. hahah but good luck

talk to your doctor to rule out medical problems!.
he/she may have you do a sleep study!.
it is very common!.
sleep, or try to, at night at a facility where
people will watch you and take notes and study you!.
then they will give the results to your doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have two solutions for you that work for me sometimes!. 1!. Read a book or magazine!. or 2!. Listen to music using an iPod or MP3 while you are sleeping and let it drift you into sleep!. When doing this, listen to some relaxing and calm music!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

talk to your doctor and he should prescribe you some medication to help you sleep!. if those dont work he give you stronger medication!. If THOSE dont work, then hell prescribe you medical marijuana!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wish I knew!. I went to bed about 10 and woke up about an hour ago!. I've tried counting backwards, pain pills, sleep pills!. I end up awake 2 or 3 times a week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stay awake for 2 days straight then go to sleep at 12:00 and yoll have energy for the day but when its time to sleep youll be tired because your two days behind!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
