Answers:
The short answer is that blood pressure is the force the pumping of your blood exerts on the walls of the blood vessels!. You're about on the upper reaches of what are considered "normal!." Although what is considered normal does depend on the person!. A pro athlete will have a much different "normal" blood pressure than a couch potato (it will be lower)!. But it's not going to be 100 points lower, or anything!.

Basically, put too much pressure on the walls of your blood vessels, and you can burst blood vessels!. (So if you're getting, say, 400 over 200, I'm thinking you're about to burst!. Literally!.) But too low, and your body isn't getting the blood to all the parts of your body that needs it!.

But really, only a doctor should evaluate what your blood pressure means!. And if you take your blood pressure more than once in a short period of time, you're going to start taking quite different readings!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first is systolic and second number is diastolic!. "normal" is 120/80 so you are slightly high (also called hypertensive)!. Many things can affect your reading, i'm assuming a doctor didn't take it or they would have explained it to you!. If you used one of those machines at pharmacies, please note they aren't the most accurate!. If you laugh or are stressed when you take it or right before you take it, that can affect your reading a lot!. The diastolic usually stays fairly constant in that case while the systolic would rise!. Take it again and see how it averages out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
