hey everyone , i am having awful heartburn right now , its so bad i am in pain in my stomach , chest , neck , and teeth/jaw area !.!.!. all i have is pepto bismal and i already taken that , what can i do !? this is awful and it hurts

Get the baking soda out of the frig and read on it how to take it for indigestion!.!.!.!.it neutralizes stomach acid!.!.!.taste like hell, but works like a charm!.

You can takes Tums (fast relief) but it can cause rebound indigestion in about an hour after taking it!. I would actually recommend taking Zantac (ranitidine)!. It is an over the counter H2 blocker!. If you have chronic heartburn, I would recommend seeing a doctor!. You may need to be on chronic therapy of either a H2 blocker like Zantac or a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) like Protonix, Nexium, etc!. PPIs don't provide fast relief but within a few days they work wonderfully!. They actually decrease the stomach acid produced which causes heartburn!. Studies have shown the people with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), I don't know if this is what you have, actually have an increased risk of esophageal cancer if not treated!.
