I am currently on Kadian 30mg, What do I say to my doctor to get bumped up to ox!
Question: I am currently on Kadian 30mg, What do I say to my doctor to get bumped up to oxycontin 40mg!?
I have 2 bulging discs that are pinching the left nerve root!. I am currently in pain management and they have me on kadian 30mg twice a day (slow release morphine) and percocet 10mg for breakthrough pain!. Oxycodone has always worked better for pain the morphine for me!. The kadian is not taking away the pain and I'm having to use my breakthrough pain medicine way more frequently then I should have to!. Any advice will help, Go back to the Doctor in 2 weeks!. well oxycodone is a morphine-like drug! i think you should explain to the doctor that you have taken oxycodone (tell him the truth whether it was prescribed or not, its all in confidence) and it worked a lot better for you!. tell him what you just typed up there and see what his thought is on it!. oxycodone is a highly addictive drug (as with all narcotics) and should only be taken as prescribed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
THe thing is, the Morphine can always be increased to more milligrams and than they can be changed to immediate release tablets!. Than Diluadid and than Hydrocodone!.
Once your on OxyContin 40's you are just going to be taking more and more!. And OxContin is rarely taken as prescribed (It is impossible to take as prescribed unless you are a sweet little old lady in a wheelchair that does not have to work) and it is just a foolish drug to play with unless you are dying of cancer!.Oxy's are great every now and than for pain but having a bottle in your hand of 90 40's!? OMG! Than 80's and than you will be in a Methadone clinic!. I am not lecturing you , but Oxycontins ruined a lot of things for a lot of people and if it were not for Contins, a lot of people would not be dying off of Methadone because they have no idea what they are doing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
