Answers:
STEROIDS are hormonal substances mainly produced by our adrenal glands (specifically the adrenal cortex---corticosteroids) and by our gonads (----androgenic hormones/testoids which are the original anabolic steroids and the precursor of androgen and female sex hormones)!.

corticosteroids are used medically!. one of its uses is for its anti-inflammatory just like those in nasal sprays where they are used to reduce the inflammatory processes in the nasal areas (like in seasonal allergic rhinitis) and thereby decongesting the area!. I have not read from any source that says it causes addiction!. I believe that corticosteroids is not addictive in itself!. =) if your referring to the kind of addiction wherein the person craves for more of a drug because of its "happy-problem-free" effect!. =)

Anabolic steroids on the other hand are used for its effects such as increasing protein synthesis in cells (anabolism), eSPECIALLY in muscles!. People engages in sports "may" be "addicted" to it in the sense that they want to use it more often in order to increase their strength when they engage themselves in sports and competitions!.

effects of anabolic steroids include increased protein synthesis, increased appetite, increased bone remodelingand growth, and stimulation of the bone marrow thereby increasing the production of red blood cells!. such effects contribute A LOT to having a very good performance in sports!.!.!. right!? = )!. this may be the reason why they crave for its use but not due to the happy-problem-free effect!.!.!. = )

corticosteroids which are applied locally (in amounts prescribed) like in nasal sprays usually only have localized effects and most probably do not have systemic effects (unless if corticosteroids are taken for example, orally in tablet forms, probably then they would have systemic effects)!.!.!.!. = )

i hope this helps!.!.!. you can also ask your doctor about it!.!.!. = )

God Bless you!!! =)

Corticoid steroids like Prednisone is not the same as the dangerous anabolic steroids used by weight lifters to increase muscle mass!. It is not a sex hormone like testosterone or estrogen and does not cause sexual dysfunction!. Prednisone is not addictive!. It does not cause drowsiness and in the usual doses will not affect your driving or working!. There is no special food interaction and mild alcohol consumption is not a problem on prednisone

Corticoidsteroids is not addicting like a narcotic or anabolic steroids; , but many patients experience withdrawal symptoms as the dose is reduced!. These often include muscle soreness, joint pain, fatigue, and depression!. Know that these effects are also temporary and worth bearing to allow a cutback in your dose!. If you experience any unusual symptoms as your cortisone dose is reduced, contact your doctor!. It may be necessary to temporarily increase your steroid dose until you are feeling better and then taper the dose more slowlyWww@Answer-Health@Com
