I have a problem with iron anemia too, esp!. when i am pregnant!. What you need to do is eat spinach, red meat, or even as gross as it is eat liver (COW), do not drink alot of milk or eat milk products 2 hours before or after you eat these foods or drink cafeine as this interferes with the absorption of iron into your blood stream!. Taking iron pills works too, but they tend to tear up your stomach and make you have one nasty taste in your mouth!. And yes, low iron will make you very sleepy!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Obviously, it had to be your doctor who told you that you have an iron deficiency!. In that case, he knows the symptoms and effects of that and he should have prescribed iron tablets for you -- also known as ferrous sulfate!. Did he check other things in your blood too!? You need to check your hemoglobin level and even your folate and B-12 levels!. You could be deficient in B-12 and/or folate and your hemoglobin might not be where it should be and you could have a bad case of anemia!. If left unchecked, it could cause serious damage, aside from just making you feel run down!. You need to have more blood work done and, at the least, need to speak to your doctor about what you should be doing or taking to help you right now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
