I think I'm having sinus problems, but I'm not sure?!

Question: I think I'm having sinus problems, but I'm not sure!?
To begin with, my throat started out a bit scratchy Saturday night!. Nothing terrible, just noticeable!. Then when I woke up Sunday morning, it was a bit worse - but still not bad!. I quickly got out the Chloraseptic spray and throat lozenges and kept them going all day!. I thought I was getting a cold, but had no fever, no other symptoms!.

Now, at 2 AM Monday morning, I've been woken out of my sleep by nearly choking on what I'm guessing is sinus drainage!. I keep having to clear my throat every minute or so!. (As a result, I'm beginning to lose my voice - my throat is nearly raw now!.) At least the scratchiness is gone, though!.

I found some old Clarinex of mine in the medicine cabinet, and I took one, but I doubt it'll do much good, as it's three years old!. I have a feeling it's lost some of its potency!.

The real problem is this: I'm leaving Tuesday morning to fly out of state on a trip - I'm meeting my boyfriend's family for the first time! So this is pretty important!

In the first place, IS this a sinus issue I'm dealing with!? And secondly, is there any way I can speed up the recovery!? I need to STOP this wretched need to clear my throat, and I need my voice! Please help, I'm desperate!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can try gargling with warm salt water several times a day for temporary relief!. For sinus problems, you can do steam inhalation or use the netti pot!. However, if you develop a fever or if your symptoms worsen, you should see a doctor!. Good luck!
