hi am just wondering if theres anny point in me going hopital i trapped my finger in a car door and its swollen up hasnt brused just the top of the finger knukle thing is swollen and raised a bit Www@Answer-Health@Com

try putting some ice on it!.
if it hurts so much you think it may be broken, you should go get it checked!.

I did something similar many years ago!. Caught my finger right at the middle knuckle, tore up the skin some!. Had little swelling though!. Never went to hospital or Doctor!.
The swelling you have is potentialy an issue!. Ice it (20 min on 20 min off) for about 2 hours!. If dark purple shows up & throbbing pain increases I'd go to the EMT!.
If you have an internal bruise there will be discoloration but it ought to take several days to go through all the stages!. Nothing to worry about absent any throbbing!.
Throbbing indicates swelling inside & this may cause additional damage to nerve tissues!.
The smaller the finger the greater the risks since there isn't as much meat to absorb the crunch!.
If the fingernail is bruised it might fall off but another will grow in!. If the base of the nail, where it grows was damaged, a new nail might grow in at an awkward angle!.
