Question: Can I take normal painkiller such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen if I'm taking beta-blockers!?
I've just been prescribed Propranolol (beta-blockers) for severe migraines I've been having recently, but it doesn't state in the information leaflet whether or not I can take normal painkillers with it!. Can anyone advise me please!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There are no particular problems of interaction between propranolol and either of these painkillers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Emma,

I would call your local pharmacist and ask him/her that question but whenever you are taking inderal there is always a chance of a drug to drug interaction with analgesics such as lbuprofen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs as well as Many other classes of drugs!.

It might be best to determine where the pain is coming from and if it is not too severe a pain tolerate it!. There are other non-pharmaceutical protocols that may help you relieve the pain and you may want to investigate some of these!.

yes you can take paracetemol but take ibuprofen with caution as it has been reported to reduce the efficacy of the beta blockers ability to reduce blood pressure and heart rate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Paracetamol is safe in the correct doses!.
Your pharmacist will advise on drug interactions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
