Should we continue to hold onto hope?!

Question: Should we continue to hold onto hope!?
My 16 year old grandson was in a horrific accident Sunday!.

His sternum is fractured as are a couple ribs, his right lung has a small hole that the Dr!. says will heal!. Worse than that, he fractured his neck and has no feeling from his chest down!. They had to fuse T2 and T3!. The xrays from yesterday look good; the spine is realigned!.

He thinks he was able to move his right foot yesterday, ever so slightly, and thinks he felt something when the nurse touched his toe!.

My question, since his spinal cord wasn't severed or cut, is there any chance at all that he might regain the feelings from his chest down!? He's a very vibrant, strong, determined young man!.

Answers:
Yes, in 3 or 4 months, or even tomorrow!. I hope sooner, before his muscles atrophy!.

I think he will regain feeling due to the correct alignment of all structures, no interruption/severing of the actual nerve, there is only severe trauma and disruption to cerebro spinal fluid, and that swelling will come down and abate!.

I can be honest about what I fear: an infection while in hospital!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

NEVER GIVE UP ON HOPE! EVER!!
^^i agree with the person above me!^^

it may seem like things wont be getting any better; or sometimes they do--but recovery takes time!. it sounds like to me, hes getting better so i wouldnt see why he wouldnt fully heal!.
keep up with what the nurses &nd doctors tell you and visit him as often as you can!. patients feel better and more determined!! he should be getting well really soon!.
anyways, good luck to your grandson!.
best wishes(:Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hope is something you should never give up!. Medical data can tell you the scientific workings of the body, but the human form is resilient and many times defies science!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
