I'm getting surgery on my knee....?!
Question: I'm getting surgery on my knee!.!.!.!.!?
it's exploratory knee surgery!. arthoscopic!.!.!. i'm getting it tomorrow!. how long is recovery and if you have had this done, how long was your recovery time!? thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a right knee arthroscopy 6 days ago and found that I needed pain relief for 2 days only!. I was advised to use ice packs and have been doing so regularly - a packet of frozen peas with the knee elevated worked wonderfully and gave me great relief (in a recliner chair watching DVDs) - and I'm still doing it!. I found the exercises a little difficult at first but they are okay now and I am becoming gradually more mobile!. However - a word of warning! I attempted driving and grocery shopping yesterday (day 5) and it was too soon for me, as I had a painful night again!.

i couldn't answer your first question for some reson so i left a comment but i'll answer it on this aswell and thank you for answering mine!.
My friend just had this surgery a few months ago and he was on cruches and in a knee brace for quite some time before the surgery however a few days after the surgery i spoke with him and he said that he was feeling alot better thanhe previously had!.He was still on crutches for a couple weeks!. and then went under theropy for 2 more weeks and he could run arounda and play sports just fine after that!. and good luck with your surgery and i hope it goes well!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This surgery is much easier and faster healing than the previous style where they opened up about 6 inches of knee then cut open the knee's capsule and did repairs!. It will heal quickly with relatively little pain if you follow ALL your doctor's instructions and be careful!.
