Should I put something on it?!


Question: Should I put something on it!?
All those thinking this is a filthy question can choose another one before I start!

I have a blister on my thumb from using scissors too much last night!. I was cutting jean and so it was more difficult and so hurt my thumb more!.!.!. Anyway!. The blister has broken in my sleep and I have a sort of hole in my thumb which is raw and very sore!. I put some sudocrem on it, but do you think I should have it covered up or something!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, blisters are quite harmless!. Even if they do get infected, its not really that bad!. The blister happens above the lower dermis layers so infection only happens locally!. Try not put to much stuff on it, just let it dry out and heal!. This cant really be sped up so try not pick the scab, that just prolongs the healing!. Leaving cream on the wound just gives the bacteria a media to grow in, especially when its covered up!. You would have to change the covering twice a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No please leave it, but if it gets worse or wont heal due to constant use during the day, then cover with a small Melolin pad which wont stick to it and is breatheable, or try a hypo-allergenic plaster!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are better leaving it open if you can as it will heal quicker but if you have to do washing up or dirty jobs then you should cover it!. try using a zinc plaster as they help with healingWww@Answer-Health@Com
