Question: I'm scared to death leg surgery im only 13 need answers for 10 points !?
couple weeks ago when i was skateboarding i fell of and messed up my leg now i need surgery so what will i expect here the questions
when i get knock out will it be like I'm dead
when i knock out will i dream because it will be like sleeping to
how long will it take before i wake up
how long will i be in hospital
any aftermath effects like headache nausea etc!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

1!. You will be in a dreamlike state!. No one can say it's like being dead because how many dead people do you know can tell you what it's like!?
2!. How long before you wake up depends on a few things, like for instance whether or not you have a general anesthesia or a local, or a "spinal"!. General will take the longest to come out of and everyone reacts diffferntly!. You may be nauseous, you may be emotional, but unless you've had other surgeries, it's hard to tell!.
3!. How long will you be in the hospital!?!?!? Your dr!. can answer that!. Most leg surgeries are "outpatient" and you may only be in recovery for a few hours then they will let you go home!. However, if it isn't outpatient then it may only be 2 days!.
4!. Aftermath (see #2 answer, depends)
5!. Expect many many weeks of physical therapy once the dr!. has said you are well enough to start p!.t!. (6-8 weeks p/t and that is after 2-4 weeks recovery)

Generally, you don't even realize when you fall asleep under the anesthesia!. When you wake up, you will not remember anything, not dreams or anything!. With modern anesthesia, you will be groggy when you wake up, but shouldn't be nauseous (ether will make you nauseous though)!.
Can't answer about length of stay in the hospital, but probably only a couple of days!. They will want you up and about as fast as they can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

crap :( it will be okay couple of months ago when i was playing my soccer match someone pushed me and i broke to bones in my leg and i had to get surgery to :(

Oh my friend don't worry!.
This experience will be the best ever!. You will be greeted by the nicest nurses and the dr's!. We know when kids are scared!. We really put you at ease!. What they will do is explain everything t o you in detail!. They will put some numbing stuff on your arm over the vein so they can start and IV!. You won't feel that very much because they will numb it first!. Maybe you feel a little pinch!. then they will likely hang a clear bag of fluid to the catheter!. This is where the Dr will put the medications to help you sleep though , so you don't feel a thing!. Then the Nurses will get you nice toasty warm blankets and wrap you in it!. Feels nice
Then The Dr will come in and talk to you- when he talk to you he will likely put a little mask over your mouth and nose this is oxygen!. It is to give your cells more while you are asleep!.
Some time's Dr will count with you- 100-99-98 and before you know it you are a sleep!. It is a peaceful!. Many people don't dream!. You won't feel a single thing!. the Dr will do surgery!. You won't know it!. Then when you wake up- it is Nice!. the nurse will talk to you!. Sometime - you may wake up and feel the mask still on your face!. Not many people get nausea sick or vomit!. But some do!. If they do they give you more medicines!. When you are little nit more awake the nurse wills it you up and talk your parents will be there- and the Dr will come see you!. Then, you wake up more and then wither go to hospital room or home!. Don't worry about pain during the operation you won't feel a thing!. After the operation you will get some pain medications!. Have no fear little man!. This will be a great adventure!. the nurses aren Dr are so good to all people!.
