When you go to walk:
Wrap ankle with an ace bandage!. Don't baby it too much!. If you can talk on it with a cane do that, or cruches if neededWww@Answer-Health@Com

Ice it three times a day for 20 minutes!. Elevate foot above your heart as much as possible!. When swelling goes down, put an Ace or get an elastic brace for it!. Also take aspirin regularly, to bring the swelling help down!. Try to avoid keeping it in warm warm water-that will increase swelling!. If after three to 5 days if you cannot walk on it, please see a doctor!. It may require closer attention!. A lot of people recommend putting an ice pack on top, but I found filling a bucket with Ice water works much better and reduces swelling much faster!. If you can't walk on it, don't be afraid to use crutches!. Many times people think they just twisted something, only to find out the pain doesn't seem to improve and they discover it's broken somewhere!. Either way !. Good luck-don't worry!. You'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The ER gave me one of those flat shoes to wear when I sprained my ankle!. They had checked for a break!. I wore it instead of a shoe!. The last time I had a foot problem, my doctor gave me a flat bootie to wear over my shoe!. You need something to keep your foot from flexing!. It got better within a week or so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
