Hydrocodone and other opiate painkillers have the potential to become very addictive very quickly!. Everyone is different - most who are addicted become so after the first time they take it!. It doesn't matter if you are taking it as prescribed!. This is common for most who do become addicted!. I believe your best bet is to call your doctor and let them know what's going on!. Tell them that you want something else for pain (you may have to put up with a little more pain than you have been, but it still can be kept at a tolerable level)!.
Keep in mind that opiates can cause mood swings, as well!. It's a side effect that not everybody has to deal with, but it's enough to where physicians know about it!. Since an opiate works like morphine, expect it to get you "high" - especially if you aren't used to taking drugs as strong as this!. Is your temper worse because you are in pain or are anxious about not wanting to be in pain!? That'll cause it, too!. Are you more cranky when you're tired!? Are you on any other medications!? You need to discuss this with you doctor, and that way you can find a solution that's best for you!. All things said, if you can take something else, it may be a good idea!. I hope you feel better soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it's very possible to become addicted to hydrocodone!. It's an opiate!. The length of time it takes to become "addicted" differs from person to person!. There are some who can take them for awhile and stop!. But there are many that take them and become dependent, addicted, or opoid tolerant very quickly!. I'd suggest that you not take them for more than one month, then only AS NEEDED, not as prescribed!.

Another answerer was correct about the dosage you mentioned!. You aren't taking 325 mgs of hydrocodone per dose, that's the amount of acetominophin in the tablet, and that IS the standard amount of acetominophin (tylenol) in Norco, yellow football shaped pills!. You're getting 10mg of hydro per dose and 325 mg of tylenol!.

Hydrocodone does sometimes cause mood swings and agression!. It also can cause the sexual feelings you're experiencing!.

Be advised that if you've been taking these regularly for a while, and you stop suddenly, you may experience some withdrawal symptoms!. These include flu-like symptoms: body aches, chills, nausea, diarrhea, for a few days to a week!.

Have a talk with your doctor about your concerns!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They are HIGHLY addictive!! It varies with people on how fast you can become addicted to them, I started taking them for TMJ and it took me about a month before I was using more than I was supposed to because the reccomended dose didnt feel like it was helping the pain, and I was missing that high they gave me!.
I have also been very irratible on them!.!.!.!.!. Its hard to say if you are addicted to them or not yet!.!.!.!. when it is time tho to stop taking them try weening yourself off slowly because you can have some bad withdrawls!.
My mother is on Lithium and hydros as well, depending on her mood, she acts differently!.
I urge people to try not to take the hydro if possible, it is an awful thing to get addicted to, it took me 3 times in rehab and lots of time in between to get over them!.
Good Luck to you! If possible ask your doctor to change your meds to somekthing that isnt as much of a narcotic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey I been taking them for ten years and don't feel I am hooked!. What I do is take them as needed even though they say take 1 or two!. It depends on the pain level!. Like they last about 6 hours so when you wake up in the morning you are in super pain and want to pop two to knock it out fast and sometimes you have to do that!. I try one and then a half after 20 minutes if needed and then the other half!.

I think some take them and drink with them and it does something to the mind!. One real important thing to understand is that they come in different strenghts of tylenol in them!. The most commoe have 500-600 mgs of the stuff mixed in!. They did a study last year and you should not take more than 4,000 mg of tylenol in a 24 hour period!. So if you think you are getting too much then you need to tell the doctor you want the one called NORCO!.

Norco only has 325 mg of the tylenol in it, So if you took six a day (the maximum) you would only have about 2,000 mgs of the stuff in your body!.

Now as far as you getting high, I don't know we all react to stuff in a different way!. I will say this when you are in a lot of pain you are not in a good mood and I want to rip something apart to be honest!. So you may want to "check" your pain and as you say you are coming off of it you may want to take half of one to bring the pain under control!. Mine got so bad when this idiot cut the meds down I ended up in the hospital three times with heart problems, so it's important to control it!. They do have other stuff and you can try it!. Anyway I hope it works for you and contact me if you have any questions!. Take care!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are not taking 325mg that is the amount of tylenol or acetaminophen in it!. hydrocodone comes in 5mg, 7!.5mg or 10mg any of these mg would be followed by a slash and 325 or 500!. this is a very addictive drug!. it may be interacting with your bipolar medicine!. did the doctor know you were taking this when he prescribed the hydrocodoneWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yep, it's addictive!. The time it takes to addict is different for everyone but if you even think you might be, seek help soon!.

Alternatives can sometimes be prescribed which are not addictive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it is opiate based and is in fact Vicodin (House's favourite drug)!. Opiates are the family of Codine, Oxycoton, Heroine, etc!. If you do not have an addictive personality, you are generally safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
