Can I swim in gym class with stitches in my ear?!
Question: Can I swim in gym class with stitches in my ear!?
I've had them in for about a week and we start swimming this week!. Thy come out on Wednesday, but were swimming tomorrow!. I also got a doctors note for one week, so technically I should be participating, but I don't know about swimming!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Please wait until your doctor informs you that you may swim again!. The pool water is just full of germs waiting to invade your body thru a nice opening such as a sutured area!. You are just asking for an infection if you go swimming with the sutures in, the area must be completely healed before you can resume your normal activity!. Ask you doctor whenever in doubt of what to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when i had my back surgery, i couldn't even take a bath!!!
i had to go to a salon for them to wash my hair and i had to take pan baths!!
if they get wet, they could come out early or get infected!!
so either don't swim, or try to cover them up or something, if i were you i'd just wait until Wednesday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Check with the doctor to make sure but I am pretty sure you cannot get the area wet!. You don't have to see the doctor just a phone call will do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
