Do you feel more comfortable being treated by an older doctor (over 50) or a younger doctor!? Why!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Personally I prefer a younger doctor as they are more likely to be up to date with the latest developments as their qualifying and study days are more recent!. An older doctor is more likely to be old fashioned and may not have kept up with all the recent developments!.
Also, an older doctor will be retiring in the near future and then you have to find a new doctor!.
Some older doctors become less efficient due to a lack of energy as they may be suffering from burnt out syndrome after many years of being overworked and having worn themselves out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on what I'm going in for!. If it's regular check ups, I like my older family practitioner!. If I fear something more serious, I prefer a younger doctor because they haven't developed that serious ********* that can cost a person their life!. They can be pretty arrogant sometimes, don't get me wrong on that!. However, young fresh doctors still have a desire to save the world!. They still give a damn about their patients and their jobs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yes I think that's natural, I feel much more confident with older Drs than opposed to younger ones!. The main reason for this of course is experience!.

(Hi Dr Frank, yes I did see his rantings; I reported all his questions AND answers, I was hoping they would get removed before you saw them as I thought it would be upsetting and offending for you to have read!. I did see the Nurse comment and he posted that question at least 5 times yesterday and my response every time was, "I WANT the real Dr Frank!!"Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am here Rhianna my dear, I am afraid I have been deeply offended by the machinations of Dr whats-his-face!. He certainly had a lot to say about nurses in one so called question!
One consultant I remember from my youth always said when he wanted to know something he always asked the youngest member of his team, as they were more up to date!. Overall it is a balance between, youth, enthusiasm and maturity!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I guess I don't really have a preference!. BUT, older doctors are usually much nicer!. They try to (and for the most part, do) understand what you're going through and stuff!. I suppose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
A middle aged doctor!. With age comes experience and the knowledge to better interpret signs and symptoms!. On the other hand, youth brings with it knowledge of new procedures and diseases!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
