Can I pull a Muscle In my Hip?!

Question: Can I pull a Muscle In my Hip!?
I was playing pepper (volleyball), and I landed weird when going down for a ball!. This was a month ago and it is still bothering me!. It's not the groin muscle but the muscle below the hip bone!. It hurts to lift my leg up (i!.e!. crossing my legs, walking, etc!.)!. It gets better if I relax for a long time, but just gets worse when I'm active again!.
What could this be!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
First of all, if it has been going on for a month and is still bothering you, it is unlikely to completely resolve on its own!. Yes, it may stop hurting, but the injury could still be there, waiting for you to stress it!.
By "below the hip bone", do you mean on the face-side of your body, toward the floor from the spiny thing on the front of your pelvis!? This is an area where the muscles that flex your hip pass through!. You may have strained one when you fell, and then developed an abnormal movement pattern to compensate for it!. This is actually not all that unusual, and your Physical Therapist should be able to help you sort it out!.
Go to APTA!.org, click on "find a PT", and enter your zip code!. You may want to look for a specialist in either orthopedic or sports PT - look for "OCS" or "SCS" after their name!.

It could be the gluteus medius or gluteus minimus or the rectus femoris!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
