Question: MRI says "possible meniscus tear"!?
I thought an MRI would give an definitive answer!? How will I know if it is torn or not!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Only surgical exploration can give difinitive results!. MRIs are highly sensitive, meaning they catch most things, but the absolute gold standard is an arthroscopy!.!.!.MRI is the next best thing!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

My daughter had an MRI for her knee after a car accident!. The O!.S!. was pretty sure she'd torn the meniscus after examining her, but was looking for confirmation!. The MRI came back as inconclusive!. They thought she had a tiny tear, but weren't positive!.
After having scope surgery done, the Dr found 3 significant tears, which he repaired!.
The only way to tell for sure, is if the Dr goes in and takes a look!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
