Question: Question for those with knowledge about burn victims chances of survival!? !?
I was reading about the tragic plane crash in South Carolina that killed 4 and badly burned Travis Barker and DJ AM!. I read that Barker is burnt from the waist down, but DJ AM is in worse condition!. It said that he is burnt on 50% of his body and the worst is on his face!. The exact quote was "his face is burnt really, really bad"!. My question is for doctors or anyone with knowledge of burn victims, what are their chances of living through this!? I have heard that jet fuel is the worst possible burn you can get!. If they do live, what are the chances of them living a "normal" life!? God be with them and my condolences to the 4 others that were killed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they will live, but the burns will stay!. for his image, he'll look totally different!. they will probably be emotionally traumatized too!. since it's 50% of the body!.!.!.there's not much left to use to cover the burns!.!.!.as for a regular life, probably not because people will feel sympathy towards him!.

There are several factors that come into play when attempting to determine the survivability of a burn injury!. If the percentage of burn plus the victims age is greater than 100, their chance of survival is very slim!. Other things like previous medical conditions & associated in juries play a role as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
In DJ AM's case, a face burn is considered very critical because there is a possibility he inhaled the flames and burnt his respiratory tract which can cause "really, really bad" issues!. Only time will tell!. The problem with burns is the immune system suppression that occurs in the 24 hours after a burn!. They're both subject to serious infection and a whole lot of pain!.
