Typically, migraines last much longer than 5 minutes!. However, we are different, so who am I to say what's typical for you!. I do know my father experiences the "aura" of migraine and has since his 30s and has never once had the actual headache!. But, he was diagnosed with a form of migraine!.
If you're getting hit with severe headaches that last 5 minutes, I would say it would be a really good idea to get it checked out by your Doctor, pain of any form is the body's way of alerting you that something that may be wrong!. So, see your Doctor just to be on the safe side!.
