I think I may have hurt my coccyx badly?!

Question: I think I may have hurt my coccyx badly!?
Yesterday I was tumbling at the beach and the sand was really hard, like concrete almost so I assumed I had to try really hard to complete the tumbling pass I was doing!. But it turned out I did it much easier than expected and I had to much power and re bounded out onto my butt!. I had instant pain in my coccyx and could hardly walk!. Today it feels worse and can't even find a comfortable position to lie in!.

The main thing I am concerned about is it feels liek ther is a like a much bigger lump there and it feels like my tail bone has been pushed lower and to the side!. Is that even possible!?

I really really need it not to be broken!. I do competitive cheerleading and we have nationals in a week and I just got my full twisting layout on floor and I need to practice it!

What the hell should I do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Injuries to the coccyx bone are actually more common in females than in males!. Usually it gets better on its own!. You may have a fracture, but it may just be badly bruised!. But you could also have a dislocation, based on your description!.

Start the ice treatment if you have not already done so - 15-20 minutes, four times a day, for the first few days!. You may need to take some pain medication such as ibuprofen!. You might need one of those special doughnut cushions to sit on!.

Here is a site with quite a bit of information about these sorts of injuries!. But you may need to take a little time off from your cheerleading!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to see a doctor!. It may be bruise; it could be fractured; it could be dislocated (I did that)!.

In most cases treatment is anti-inflammatories and rest!. In some cases, very, vary rare, surgery is recommended!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may very well have fractured it!. You need to have it X-rayed!. See the doctor ASAP!.

If it is broken, you can forget about cheerleading for awhile!. Sorry!.

Definitely have it checked out!. Hopefully, it is just bruised, but it's better to be safe than sorry!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

see a doctor, get an x-ray, you dont want to make things worse than they already areWww@Answer-Health@Com

this will sound and its looks grouss too but ice it
if it doesnt get better
go see the docWww@Answer-Health@Com

if you ahve broken it there is nothing a dr!. could do anyway other than offer pain relief!. you can not "set" a broken coccyx!. time is the only healer!. but be vigilant that you haven't say injured a disk !. if you have with time inflamation will set in causing pain to generate across the buttock and down the leg(reffered pain) or pressure on the siatic nerve causing siatica!. I brike my coccyxs it took many weeks for the pain finally to relent, and i did need pain meds for several weeks!. basically though if you can stand the pain theres not much you absolutley can't do!. it's not going to get any more broken afterall!. sorryWww@Answer-Health@Com
