I got a really bad splinter under my nail! ?!

If you can't reach the splinter you may need to go see the doctor!. Trying to get it out yourself can lead to severe infection, especially since you would have to go through the nail base or cut skin!. To prevent infection you should soak the finger in a solution of betadine and luke warm water (50/50)!. My father is a plastic surgeon and I see this all the time!. Definitely better to see a doctor than to risk infection of the finger!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Try soaking your finger in warm water for a few minutes, It should loosen the splinter then if you have a nail file to hand and you can see the splinter hook it out (It may hurt while you do it but it is over really quick)

Make sure the end of the file is put in a flame (like a candle or cigarette lighter for a few seconds it is supposed to sterilize it!.
