Answers:
sounds like you've broken it, but if not it is a tremendous sprain!. they will immobilize it in some way no matter what!. that will help with the pain and swelling!. sounds like you know the right treatment since you had the ankle thing and you probably know that if it is a fracture in the growth plate then they will only have to repeat the x-rays 7-10 days from now to make sure things are healing properly!. keep up the icing and elevation and resting it until you get advice from the doc!.

hope you feel better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

With as much swelling as you are describing, the doctors might not be able to see a break at this time!. If you are actually seeing bone through your skin, they might set it and cast it anyway!. There are other tests that can be done to reveal a breal when to much swellin gis present!. Tuning fork for one!.!.!.good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you've broken it, there definitely shouldn't be bone sticking through your skin! I expect they will give you a cast, don't worry!. If not, they'll have to at least give you some nice strong painkillers!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Fron what you're describing, it is broken!. If it isn't your doctor will probably immobilize it until the swelling goes down!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
