Broken Elbow Smashed into peaces?!

Question: Broken Elbow Smashed into peaces!?
Hi, about a wk ago I tripped over 3 bikes didn't know they were there cos the kids just parked them there without any consideration for anyone else!.

Anyway I ended up in A&E last monday and the x-ray department said that, I had broken my wrist and my elbow, my elbow well and Truly broken!.

But going back to the minor treatments the doctor there said my wrist was not broken it had been damaged when I landed on my arm!.

Anyway yesterday when I went back for the appointment at the fracture clinic he said that I had made a gone job of breaking my elbow up cos all I have got left is just flesh and they might operate to remove all the bits and then put a false elbow in!.

I have no movement in my elbow i can't bend my elbow or turn it over so my palm of my hand is facing upwards!.

What do you think I should do request for the operation or just let it be cos the consultant is saying my arm won't be normal again I will be a cripple with my arm!?

Any suggestions or ideas will be grateful and thanks in advanceWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's up to you but I would do what the consultant suggests, they are dealing with broken bones all the time!.
At least with an elbow replacement you will have a range of movements, if you just leave all the broken bits floating you will have a very painful and deformed arm for life!.
I broke my arm just above the wrist 3 years ago and have since had 5 operations on it, I will never have full movement and have been left with a disability but it's better than if it had been left!.
Please email if you want to chat about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That depends on how badly you want use of your arm!. I personally enjoy full use of both arms and would like to continue with it like that!. I would recommend the same for you!. GET THE SURGERY!!! I really dont understand why you wouldntWww@Answer-Health@Com
