Hey, I have been playing for 12 years now!.!.!. and I remember those days!. Just massage them!. Unfortunatly, you need to play until you form a calous on your fingers!. There is a reason why people say play until you bleed, then play some more!. Are you playing electric or acoustic!? If you have an acoustic get some light strings!.!.!. the sound will be a bit different but they will be easier to push down when learning!. If you are playing on an electric pick up some super slinkys!. Just remember that the super slinky strings will make it very easy to get off pitch because they slide around!. This may help a little, however just keep up with the playing and eventually you will be fine!. Good luck and Rock On!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok, I know exactly what you're talking about, I had this when I began on bass, and again when I started guitar (seriously the strings are like cheesewires!)
The best thing to do, is play for a little while every day, if your fingers become too painful, then stop!. (I've gone a little too far at times, and all this does it makes it longer until you're able to play again!.) The next day, you will be able to play again, and eventually your fingers build up layers of skin this way, and you no longer feel anything!. If you get out of practice, you will have to build up the skin again though!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

you get used to it =P
no you just get it because your fingers aren't used to it!.
