I had a migraine yesterday but it's lingering today. Advice?!

Question: I had a migraine yesterday but it's lingering today!. Advice!?
I'm peri-menopausal so it stand to reason that I'm starting to get migraines though not real often!. Day before yesterday I started seeing the flashes of light in my peripheral vision and then yesterday I had a full-on migraine which I treated with Excedrin and Benedryl (this usually works)!. I used a cold pack on my head and slept!. Today the migraine is lingering, like a water balloon in the top of my head, and the left side of my face is still a little saggy (which always accompanies my migraines)!. Is it normal to have one that started three days ago and is still lingering!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
a lot of times when someone is peri-menopausal they can get overstressed, stress alone has been believed to cause migraines of that strength!.
Now some people getting migraines will have spikes of them, and yes its normal to develop them any time in life!. these spikes that some people get can follow patterns such as having a full blown migraine that can overwhelm you, and then have it slowly relax in a way that keeps it lingering for a few days later, then the pattern can repeat itself!.
The best thing to do is keep as relaxed as possible for now and see if it returns in any way shape or form, drinking water, resting, these are good ideas, BUT one mistake some people make is OVERresting!. if you stay in bed too much or just rest too much then you can start getting pain from that specifically, so if you are resting and start feeling uncomfortable no matter what you do, try getting up, walking around a little, and something that tends to help most cases iv heard of in this situation im speaking about is sitting down in a chair thats NOT reclined, and eating fruit!.
Id like to post two quotes from a female doctor i respect greatly on this subject;
