I as a nurse and chronic back pain patient have had numerous epidurals and the last set put me in the hospital!. You are probably needing to get on an anti inflammatory medication!. Maybe a round of steroids Have you been given a medrol dose pack!? It is short term steroids they look like a birth control pill pack but it can help with inflammation!. It is hard for me to recommend much else without knowing your exact problem!. You are welcome to contact me outside answers if you wish!. I have had a disc replacement and a fusion in my lumbar spine!. I have had years of orthopedic surgery experience!. maybe I can help once I know what you have already triedWww@Answer-Health@Com

Have you tried stretching the spine muscles!? You said you used heat, was it a heating pad!? If you are using a heating pad, that doesn't do much except burn you if you leave it on to long!. Try moist heat!. You'll need help doing this procedure!. Lay on your back in bed, have someone soak a towel with hot water, ring it out then apply it where the back is hurting!. Have a second towel handy to quickly replace the first one when it begins to cool!. Have them do this until your skin begins to turn slightly red!. Then have them massage your back using some Aspercreme!. It may be better if you do this before the heat application!. Lay on your back, legs straight!. Now start bending your knees and moving your legs forward until you can grab the knees with your hands!. Pull your legs toward you as far as you can to the chest/stomach area!. Hold for a minute or so, then let the legs back down slowly and straighten them!. Now do this at least four or five times, twice a day!. You can do both legs or one at a time!. hen you pull your legs forward, you can feel the muscles in the upper legs and up to about the middle of the back!. This procedure is better than the muscle relaxers because of the side effects from them!. If you want to take something, take an Ibuprofen 800 Mg's twice a day!. Wishing you he very best young lady and good luck in getting some needed relief!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
