Large Bone Spur Plantar Fasciitis?!

Question: Large Bone Spur Plantar Fasciitis!?
I am overweight!. I have been very active in sports all my life!. About 4 years ago it seemed my heels began to be sore!. It is primarly the bottom of both heels!. I saw a doctor 4 years ago and they said I was fine!. Over time, I continued sports, but the pain has increased and in turn, I did less and less activity!. I do wear shoe inserts in every shoe and have switched to tennis shoes daily!. I have been seeing a podiatrist!. We have taped my feet for two weeks and no improvement!. He had me try antinflammatory and no improvement!. Chances of me losing weight are little to none!. He is suggesting surgery!. I have two large bone spurs, one on each foot!. He is suggesting laproscopy!. I truly want to participate in sports again, but the heel pain prevents it!.

Has anyone had this surgery!? Please share your experiences!. Of course surgery is a last cause, but I worry that if I wait more years, things will continue to get worse!. Any advice!? What questions should I ask my foot doctor today when I see him!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Has your podiatrist recommended custom orthotics!? If not, ask about them!. I have plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and an osteochodroma (benign bone tumour in the knee joint)!. Before I got custom orthotics I could barely walk!. Two weeks after getting them, I spent a full week at Walt Disney World!. As long as I wear the custom orthotics every day, I can handle the odd social occasion with high heels!. Beats the heck out of not walking at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my mom is over weight and needs a knee transplant!. but her doctor told her it will only benefit her if she loses the over pound-age
he signed her up for swim aerobics!.
she has lost 12 lbs in 3 weeks,
maybe this can help you if all else fails, get the surgery, and go into rehab with swim classes!. they make them for people who need to lose Weight!. ask your doctor;Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are asking two separate questions!. The one about the weight issue is going to have to be between you and the specialist!. There are still alternative ways to lose the weight!. You can do exercise classes in water, a lot of Y's have them!. That will be very beneficial to you because up to forty percent of the weight will be negated in the water!. That will be a large relief to your feet!. Riding a stationary bike is another one!. Perhaps the best way to lose weight is to go to the gym!. Lifting weights is great for weight loss!. The increased number of muscle fibers will consume calories and trim you down!. It will also make it more efficient for you to move!. Part of the problem is that your body weight to muscle mass ratio is way out of kilter!. For this see a certified trainer and get started!. As for the plantar fasciitis try this!. Assume a long sitting position or lying on your back!. Do these movements right before you go to sleep and just before you get out of bed in the morning!. Have your legs straight and don't allow the knees to bend!. Have the muscles of the feet pull the front of the feet up towards the knees!. You will know that it is being done correctly when there is a pull in the calf muscles!. Hold that stretch for a second or two!. Relax and repeat so that at least five of these movements are done!. Once you have the hang of doing this it can be done sitting or standing!. The more that it is done the faster the pain will dissapate!. Losing weight will speed up this process!. Another thing to do is to get a tennis ball and while standing place the foot on the ball and just roll the foot across the ball!. This will stretch the fascia at the bottom of the foot!. Good luck!
