Toe injury with bruising at the base of the nail -- will I lose my toenail?!

Question: Toe injury with bruising at the base of the nail -- will I lose my toenail!?
Yesterday I was moving furniture while barefoot (smart, I know *facepalm*) and I dropped a dresser drawer full of clothes on my foot!. It hit right on my big toe, and hurt like hell!. It started bruising a little immediately, and is now blueish-grey at the bottom of the nail, and the cuticle!.
It doesn't really hurt much anymore (unless I go pushing on it), and the bruising is not dark, nor does it cover a large area, but I'm concerned with the bruising/injury being right at the base of the nail, where the nail grows!. Is it likely that I'll lose the toenail, or will it probably heal on its own without complications!?

Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Probably won't lose it!.
In my adventures of accidental inflicted injury, I lost digit nails only when the nail was blueish black and nearly covering the entire surface!.
On those occasions where the nail was only partially covered or a grayish blue, the nail grew out the discoloration after time!.
Next time, wear steel-toed house slippers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I stump my toes a lot, i feel your pain! More than likely you will lose the nail!. Now, on a good note, you may not even lose it until the new nail is in! I have had a nail grow in under the broken one! The nice thing is, it is fall, and socks are pretty much a must for the next few months! It should be completely healed and pretty again by spring! Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will most likely fall off!. It is turning blueish-grey b/c the blood vessels and skin cells are damaged to a point that they cannot repair themselves!. If it turns green, then for sure it will fall off, but don't worry, it'll grow back!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It probably wont fall off if the brusing is minimum!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not only will you loose a nail your going to loose your hole foot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
