Question: Infected scar from my belly button piercing!. Can you please tell me what is going on!?
Ok, this is gross!. It made me gag many times last night!. But i need to know what was going on!. I took my belly button ring out years ago, and I'd had it for at least 2 years!. I was VERY clean with it!. After removal I always had a scar where the piercing went!. It was hardened, but I didn't think anything of it!. Until last night!.
I noticed a scab on the end of each scar from where the piercing was (entry and exit point)!. Like anyone would I said "this piercing is old and should have healed itself a long time ago, what's going on!?" I picked the scab!. and here's where the gross part starts!.
Apparently all of that hardened material that was in the scar, came out!. and it was white, and it was gross!. disgusting gross!. i don't know what it was, but whatever it was, it is what was making the scar hard!. there was a little bit of blood too!. I don't necessarily think it was pus, because it had a harder texture!. but i could be wrong, mind you i was gaging the whole time this was happening!. but if my scar was infected, wouldn't i have known it years ago!? was this an infection!? could i get septicemia since there was a possible mix in my blood and this material!? i got it all out after a while!. the scar is sore, but i cleaned it with bactine and put a bandage on it overnight!. i'm keeping it very clean and i keep checking it to make sure nothing else is in there!.
i don't have a doctor, i'm flat broke, and I just want to know what was going on, and should i be really concerned!? i take very good care of my body, i don't drink, i don't smoke, and i exercise regularly!. i just want to know how common this is and how concerned i should be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This happens to ears to when you don't wear earings for a long time after taking the earings out!. Same exact thing happened to my earing holes even after a few years!. It takes a really long time for your piercing to close up!. You drained it which helps so keep cleaning the area 2 times or 3 times daily!. I strongly suggest using bactine which is cheap but does a better job at cleaning the "wound" area and keeping it from getting infected!. That hard stuff is skin trying to rebuild there and since it is a hole it does not form right back to the way it was so when you squeeze it, it comes out looking like this weird hard stuff sometimes pussy!. All a part of the healing process!. Squeezing it is better so it can drain out and get all the icky stuff to start over!. For now give it a rest just clean it out!. Those scabs are proabbly from because you had a reaction to the metal!. Most skin is not happy with earings or belly rings that are not real sterling silver or real gold in this case reacts to it by a mild infection or scabing over!. If you notice any red or purple coloring forming around the area then it's infected and may need to go to a doctor!.
Another thing to use is neosporin!. Just give it more time!. My ears even years later still do that and allow me to put earings in even though they are closed up!.

What I would do is go to your piercer have them check it out!. They'll defentinely be able to tell you whats up with it, btu yea def keep it clean!. I don'tknow what else to tell you, it prob is an infection!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
