Dislocated shoulder?? Physical Therapist?? ?!
Question: Dislocated shoulder!?!? Physical Therapist!?!? !?
I managed to dislocate my shoulder by falling off a ripstick!. I went to the doctors and got x-rays which told me I had "Acromioclavicular joint separation" and right now I have it in a sling!. My shoulder is still sore but if I go to a Physical Therapist will it help!? How long does it usually take to heal, and what can I expect by going to a physical therapist!? (how will they help)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
AN AC joint separation will not heal quickly!. You will still have pain for a while!. Expect a 6-10 week recovery time (very similar to a fracture!. Keep in mind the two joints are under pressure, which makes it difficult to heal!.
As for a physical therapist, they will provide excercises and therapies to help restore motion!. blood and nerve conduction to the area!.
A chiropractor can do this also!.
Good luck with your recovery!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
